Twenty years ago the average runway model weighed 8% less than the average woman. Today she weighs 23% less.

What is disturbing is how very much the runway model looks like a child. It’s partly the way the photo is set up, but still – yikes!

Agreed – she does look like a child. But most of these runway models have the figure of a skinny 13 year old. there’s only a few that broke that mold (Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford) they were super skinny but at least had breasts.

Wow – this is such a compelling picture.I don’t know what is more frightening, the fact that the runway model’s wrist is the same diameter as her bicept, or the fact that the lovely woman on the right is considered “plus-sized.”

Amazing. The plus-sized model is so much more beautiful and womanly — and most men would probably agree. The runway model really does like a child by comparison. There’s something very sad about this photo.

Frightening, at first glance I thought the picture was mother and daughter. Also at first glance I thought how beautiful the woman on the right was and how sickly her child looked. These were my thoughts before reading the print.
