Oh the lovely cycle of rape culture.
What is Liz Trotta, Fox News pundit really trying to say when she tells us that women in the military shouldn’t be fighting in “front line combat roles” with men due to the military’s high level of sexual assault complaints? Trotta’s actual quote:
“What did they expect? They’re in close contact.”
Can anyone interpret her seemingly flippant attitude toward rape in the military? Also, does she really mean to dismiss the importance of keeping our soldiers safe? Please weigh in on this outrageous, yet wonderful example, of free speech.
On a side note, Trotta’s stance is eerily similar the stance of the rape culture stance that’s already been portrayed in this You Tube video: Shit Everybody Says to To Rape Victims.
Because, you know, you can’t get raped with your jeans on. Or your combat boots. Or with an AK-47.
Or as Jon Stewart said last night on the subject: “You can’t make co-ed omelets without raping a few eggs.”
Watch this brilliance.
